Collect From Our Yard
iWood is a timber merchant based on the Norbury Park Estate. We have traditionally specialised in hardwoods and durable softwoods, and we have now expanded into pressure treated softwood, which is why we started an all-new website. To keep our softwood prices competitive, SoftwoodDirect is collection only, and collection from our yard near Norbury Junction is free. Because of this, most of our customers come from Staffordshire, Shropshire and the Black Country.
How Collection Works
Our collection process is handled in four simple steps:
Step 1: You order the timber you need online. Our checkout is quick and easy. You can either pay online or, if you prefer, we can send you a proforma with BACS details or a payment link.
Step 2: We process your order by picking your timber and, on cladding, carrying out any machining that is needed, so your pack is ready for you.
Step 3: We call to tell you that your timber is ready, and you confirm a date you would like to come.
Step 4: You collect and inspect your timber at our yard.
Usually the whole process takes around 7 to 9 working days.

Booking In
If you know when you would like to collect, you can tell us while you are on the phone. Otherwise, please call us on 01889 597 281 with your name or order number when you are ready. All we ask is that you give us around 24 hours’ notice so we can get the packs ready before you arrive.
If someone else is collecting for you, just let us know, and tell them they will need your order number on pick-up.
What Vehicle Do I Need?
The vehicle you need depends on the size of the order, both the longest piece and the total weight of the timber. When you build a cutting list on a product page, the weight of the list is shown alongside the price. It is important to check that your vehicle can take the weight of your entire order, and to measure the space where the timber will go to make sure there is enough room for the lengths you need.
As softwood is lightweight, you may get away with carrying a small order on a roof rack. However, we recommend a van or trailer instead. Just remember to bring all the strapping and clips you need.
On The Day
When you arrive, report to the yard office, where you will be given your paperwork and taken to your timber. Where they can, the team will load your vehicle using one of our side loaders. Otherwise they can help you load by hand, although this has to be done piece by piece.
If you would like to inspect the timber before you leave, you can. This can be done in the warehouse or outside, weather dependent, and we can help you re-band the pack if necessary.
Trade Collections and Large Vehicles
Depending on where you are coming from, your sat nav may take you down a private road off Lodge Lane in Woodseaves. This is fine for most vehicles, but if you are sending an HGV you will need to use a different entrance.
Instead of turning off Lodge Lane, use Weston Jones Road off the Newport Road (A519). Follow that road to Norbury Junction, pass over the canal bridge, and we are the next turning on the left. You will see a sign for iWood Timber at the entrance. Follow the private road for approximately a mile until you come to an electric gate, which we will open for you on arrival, and you will be directed where to park.
FAQs
Can I collect on the same day?
No. Our lead times are typically 7 to 9 working days, but please check the page of the product you are buying to confirm. When your timber is ready, we will call to let you know.
Can I pay when I collect?
No. All orders are on a proforma basis, so payment is required up front. You can pay online, by BACS, or we can email you a secure payment link.
Can you cut timber to length?
No, we do not offer cross cutting. This protects the timber in transit and means you are not left short on site.
Do you deliver at all?
SoftwoodDirect is collection only. On large quantities we can sometimes arrange delivery across the UK, but this would need to be quoted for at the time of order.
Can I get my order delivered with items from the main iWood website?
Yes, as long as the total meets the iWood website minimum order. Please check there for further details.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. Our minimum order is £200.00 ex VAT.
